STUDIES IN AMOS
Our Adult Sunday School is beginning a study of the book of Amos. We find in Amos God’s indictment of Israel for their sin and rebellion, primarily in breaking the covenant God had originally made with them at Sinai through Moses.
And, not only is God pronouncing judgment on the northern kingdom of Israel, judgment is also pronounced on a number of surrounding nations who have rejected God themselves in living lives contratry to God and His moral standard.
Amos points to God’s sovereignty over all of His creation, especially over all peoples in having created them and having revealed Himself to them and having put knowledge of His existence inside them such that all peoples are accountable to God for how they live their lives in front of Him.
